Andre W. Allen is a dedicated public servant who has demonstrated unwavering pride and commitment to the City of Peoria through his community service and civic engagement. As a lifelong Peorian, he passionately believes in the city’s potential and declares, “It’s winning time, Peoria!”
Elected to the Peoria City Council on April 6, 2021, Andre took office on May 4, 2021, representing District 4. His priorities include neighborhoods and infrastructure, business development, public safety, and quality of life.
In October 2022, Andre became Peoria County Government’s first Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, where he leads initiatives to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within county operations and across the community.
Andre is an experienced higher education professional and senior administrator, having served in various roles at Eastern Illinois University, Illinois State University, and Methodist College. His career reflects a strong dedication to student success and academic excellence. In the fall of 2024, Andre proudly earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration.
Andre W. Allen is a proud graduate of Peoria Public Schools, having completed his education at Richwoods High School in 2007.
After high school, he attended Illinois Central College, where he spent two years growing personally and academically before transferring to Eastern Illinois University (EIU) in Charleston, Illinois.
At EIU, Andre distinguished himself as an actively engaged campus leader. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Master of Science in Sports Administration.
In the fall of 2019, Andre embarked on his doctoral journey at Illinois State University, successfully earning his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration in December 2024.
Andre credits his accomplishments to his faith and the unwavering support of his community. He takes immense pride in showing that as Peorians, we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
Outside his professional life, Andre enjoys family time with his wife, Jaleesha Allen, and their three children: two daughters, Barbie Marie and Dream, and one son, Dreyton.
