The Moving 4ward campaign is driven by a vision of progress and unity for Peoria’s District 4. By focusing on four key pillars—strong neighborhoods, modern infrastructure, public safety, and economic development—we aim to create a thriving community. Together, we will foster vibrant neighborhoods, improve essential infrastructure, ensure safety for all residents, and drive economic growth through innovation and opportunity. This platform is our roadmap to a stronger, safer, and more prosperous District 4—moving us all forward toward a brighter future.
Building strong neighborhoods is essential for creating a vibrant and connected community in District 4. My vision focuses on enhancing the quality of life for all residents by:
🏘️ Improving Housing Options: Partnering with local organizations to increase access to affordable housing and promoting programs that support homeownership and renovation initiatives.
🤝 Enhancing Community Engagement: Establishing regular neighborhood meetings and creating platforms for residents to voice concerns, share ideas, and collaborate on solutions.
🛝 Expanding Recreational Opportunities: Upgrading parks, playgrounds, and public spaces to ensure families and children have safe, accessible places to gather and play.
🏚️ Strengthening Code Enforcement: Tackling blighted and nuisance properties through proactive code enforcement and incentivizing redevelopment to ensure clean, attractive neighborhoods.
Infrastructure is the backbone of a thriving district, and we need to ensure our roads, sidewalks, and public utilities meet the needs of our community. My infrastructure priorities include:
🛠️ Road Repairs and Maintenance: Securing funding for the timely repair of potholes, resurfacing roads, and improving traffic flow.
🚶 Sidewalk and Accessibility Improvements: Expanding and maintaining sidewalks to promote pedestrian safety, especially near schools, businesses, and community hubs.
🌧️ Stormwater Management: Addressing flooding concerns by investing in modern stormwater management systems to protect homes and businesses.
🌱 Sustainable Development: Advocating for green infrastructure solutions, such as rain gardens and permeable pavements, to promote environmental sustainability.
Safety is a fundamental right for every resident, and I am committed to making District 4 a safe place to live, work, and play. Key initiatives include:
👮 Strengthening Police-Community Relations: Expanding community policing efforts to build trust and ensure law enforcement is responsive to residents' needs.
🚑 Supporting Emergency Services: Advocating for the resources and training first responders need to serve our district effectively.
🛡️ Reducing Crime: Collaborating with local organizations to address the root causes of crime, such as poverty and lack of access to education and employment opportunities.
👀 Neighborhood Watch Programs: Encouraging residents to take an active role in safety by forming and participating in neighborhood watch groups.
A thriving local economy benefits everyone in District 4. As one of the city’s key economic drivers, District 4 has seen steady development, including significant new commercial and residential projects.
Efforts will continue to attract new businesses, support existing ones, and create opportunities for growth by:
💼 Attracting Investments: Partnering with developers and business leaders to bring new economic opportunities to our district while maintaining transparency and community input.
🏪 Supporting Small Businesses: Providing resources, grants, and incentives to help small businesses thrive and create jobs for local residents.
🎓 Workforce Development: Collaborating with educational institutions and training programs to equip residents with the skills needed for in-demand careers.
🏙️ Encouraging Mixed-Use Development: Promoting projects that combine residential, retail, and office spaces to create dynamic, walkable communities.
